Tummies and Tales: Cats!

We had a great time at Tummies and Tales today as we read stories about cats and made a fun cat craft. Don't know what Tummies and Tales is? It's our weekly storytime for kids age 4-PreK. We meet on Thursdays at Noon and you can bring your lunch if you'd like. We also provide a snack. As always, our storytimes are free and you don't need to register in advance. Just show up ready to have fun!

This week we read three books about cats and kittens: Cat Jumped In! by Tess Weaver, Rumble Tum by Stephanie True Peters, and Mrs. McTats and Her Houseful of Cats by Alyssa Satin Capucilli.

The feline in Cat Jumped In! made a mess all through the house, even getting into some paint! So after we read this fun story, we made our own cat paw print art with watercolors.

Our paw print art turned out purrfect!

To make this craft, we used sponges with different colored watercolors on watercolor paper. Then we glued on cat cut-outs to make it look like the cat was the artist. Easy and fun!

We hope you'll join us next week at Tummies and Tales where we'll dive into another great theme.
