On June 9th there was a great turn out for the creation of Sally Russell inspired sculptures. Thank you to all of those who came out.
I think we all had a great time, I know I did! Each child was able to paint a piece that will go on the finished totems and make a miniature totem of their very own.
Many thanks to Georgia Direct Carpet for donating carpet tubes, and Lowes for donating house paint for this project. Special thanks go to Zane McGinnis of TAZFAB 4X4s for the work that he put into making the bases for each child to take home as well as the large bases for the permanent totems. He was instrumental in the painting and cutting the large tubes, as well as volunteering his time to help with the program itself.
I want to thank everyone for their contributions to this large project. We are very excited to show our final products.
Now for a very important part of the process....your pictures! Here are several pictures taken during the event of all of you working hard to make these works of art!
Miss Kayla is getting everything prepped.
Look at those artists!
Look at the turnout! In case you are curious that is Mister Zane in the bottom left corner making his own contribution to the totems.
Working on his own take home sculptures base
I love the dots so many of you did!
Like this young lady! Spectacular!
Overall we had a lot of fun and there is more to come! Thank you to all those who attended.
