All Things Green!!!

In our upcoming Tummies, Tales, and Treats story time (Thursday, October 9th) our reading and activity themes will be ALL THINGS GREEN! After our usual welcome song and drumming name game, we'll do a "green chat". Each child will be asked to name things that are green. That's right it's all up to you! How many green items will we name and record in one minute?

Our first story will be Where Is the Green Sheep?, written by Mem Fox and illustrated by Judy Horacek.

Directly following the first book selection, we'll do the sight word magnetic match activity. Our sight word this week is "green" and is in the title of our first book. Next, we'll read a non-fiction book entitled Colors in Nature:Green by Martha Rustad and with picture credits to Dreamstime and Shutterstock.

To spice things up, we'll enjoy a fun song, featuring GREEN of course!! Our final story is a Caldecott winner called Grandpa Green, written and illustrated by Lane Smith.

Please join us at the Morrisson-Reeves Library from 12-12:45pm Children's Programming Room from 12-12:45pm in the Children's Programming Room. The room will be opened 10 minutes prior to story time so that the children can start their lunches (you are welcome to bring a packed lunch) or have a treat on us! Story time will end at about 12:35pm to allow any child that has not finished their lunch a few extra minutes.
